9lbs 10oz!!!

Anders gained 1lb 10z since his last visit! I am quite pleased. He is back up to the 25th percentile for weight after being at the 10th percentile a couple of weeks ago. He is also at the 25th percentile for length. He is, however, at the 75th percentile for head circumference! He is even above the 25th percentile on head circumference for 4 month old babies. The other percentile measurements are based on babies 6 weeks old, which Anders' gestational age will be tomorrow.

I think the confusion with the synergist shot is clearing up. It should be arriving today, which means that we could set up a time for him to get this important shot before the weekend.
He has his first visit to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus on Tuesday afternoon. Then, next Thursday morning we go back to Holzer for more immunizations. Provided everything goes well in Columbus, Anders will not have to return to the doctor until Jan. 11. Anders might be a bit bummed about that, however, as he enjoys the car ride, the scenery, and the socializing.

Also, my good friend Scott "Mustang" Nordschow and his wife Marissa had a son yesterday, just 2 days shy of Mustang's 30th birthday. Carlton Scott Norschow was born yesterday at 3 am, weighing 7lbs 12oz at 20.5 inches long. Anna and I are very happy for them. They chose not to know the sex of the baby, but I knew it would be a boy based on my consultation of the Chinese lunar calendar. This crackpot method is 2 for 2, so I'm sticking with it.

As I was talking with him, the power went off here last night for 3-4 hours. We had a quick mini-storm that knocked out power to a very small part of the West Side: West Hills, Slaughter, Elizabeth, Rardin, and probably Hanlin (didn't check that one), but power remained on 1st Street (just below us), 2nd street (just above us), and Walker Street (just east of us). We bundled Anders, but it didn't get too bad before the power was restored. It's surprising we don't lose power for long periods more up here on the hill since the power lines literally snake through tree branches. Our power never went out for more than a few seconds last January during the bad ice storm here where people lost power for a week and were living in hotels. I hope we have last winter's luck as things turn colder here later this month. It was pretty temperate last night, so it wasn't a big concern then.
