odds and ends

It's been too long.
Today Anders gave me the sticker from his banana because he said I'd done a good job sleeping last night!
He also told me that Washington DC was not a state.  He thought it was a country, but still he knew it wasn't a state.
Anders has become quite the runner since Christmas.  He runs all over the place.  He still primarily leads the life of the mind, but he is much more interested in physical activity than before.
Anders is switching classes at daycare tomorrow.  He is sad as he doesn't want to leave Ms. Michelle and Ms. Illa behind, but Ms. Cindie will be there as she swings between classrooms.  Anders is going from room 350 to 450.  He decided to dress up for the occasion.  He decided that his belt would not do and that we needed to go to Target to get him a new belt.  Anna pointed out that his old belt was hardly used.  She found some shorts that he can belt and a matching shirt so he'll look spiffy tomorrow.
Anders is also starting to get excited about our move to a new house on Bee Bayou Lane.  It's close to where we currently live, but it is bigger, nicer, and in a better neighborhood.  We have more green space, random benches and sidewalks, ducks, and something approaching a bayou outside our front door, which is a mixed blessing since critters live in bayous.  At least it has a sense of place unlike Timber View Drive.
Anders is getting more adventurous in the the pool.  He is willing to go under water. It's not his favorite thing and he doesn't do it a lot, but he will do so. He really wants to go down the slide at the pool, but I told him he needs to go under a lot and doggy paddle as well.
He told me that he wants to go swimming at Galveston with Uncle Josh when he gets back from Afghanistan.
He called Grandpa on the banana, but he wasn't home because he was at "The Golf."  In this case, he means the game not the 3rd Coast.
Now that summer is here, I resolve to post upon occasion.  Happy Memorial Day.
